Rising Music's own Italian Stallion, Lys, returns to his home stable to release his take on loop based House.
With Few Things, Lys takes the current trend of loop based House and gives it his own unique twist. The funky bass guitar, vocal sample and disco stabs are all present and correct, but Lys adds a techier edge, twisted effects and some driving synths for maximum dance floor impact.
Lys showing here just what he is capable of, Pete Tong has already taken notice, giving this its first airing on his Essential Selection, and we can't wait to hear more from this fast rising star.
Sorry to do this to you, but here's a link to some sales notes....
If you'd rather hear my story, it goes something like this....
Once upon a time somwhere in a land south of London city centre, two fantastic producers ate some pizza... and made a track... it went down a treat... the end!
In todays current music scene, it is rare to find an artist who not only has the ability to write unique and forward-thinking songs, but who also has a voice that seems to fuse with the track with effortless ease...unless your name is Nastala.
Growing up in the electronic capital of Detroit, Nastala began writing and singing from an early age and eventually captured the attention of electro house big gun, Chris Lake. Once in the studio the pair soon became a winning formula, achieving chart-topping global success with tracks Only One and If You Knew. Nastala's sexy, funked-up vocals soon became heavily in demand, opening many doors in the industry as a singer/songwriter, including being asked to write for massive dance legends Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. Nastala's early success at the heights of the dance music community gave her a fantastic foundation to move forward and guided her towards working with acclaimed songwriters Biff Stannard (Kylie Minogue / The Spice Girls) and Jonas Quant.
Now unleashing her debut single, Crazy is everything you could wish for in a bona fide electro-pop anthem. 'Crazy' was produced by Chris Lake and mixed by respected engineer Ash Howes (who has previously worked with Little Boots and Dido) with additional production from good friend Deadmau5 on drums and guitar.
Back together once again, the production powerhouse that is Lake & Lys return to Rising Music for another piece of peak time, dancefloor madness.
Humanica picks up where La Tromba left off, a huge track featuring a harmonica played by Dirty Vegas’ Steve Smith, backed up by driving synths, heavy percussive drums and the trademark Sawtooth Lake bass line.
Sloane, on the other hand, is a classic old skool groover, chords stabs reminiscent of classic house records push the track, while vintage drum machines are perfectly juxtaposed next to modern pad sounds, all combining to send the dancefloor in to old skool ecstasy. The end of year sampler, for most labels this is a package cobbled together of tracks that weren’t really strong enough to get a release on their own, the nearly there but not quite of 2009, but not for Rising Music, Its all about the future stars and new faces of 2010.
Kicking off the package we have the head honcho Mr. Chris Lake with Release, which sports a killer remix from Taurus & Vaggeli, modulating synths and tough drums pushes this well into the main room. We then have the anthemic, Spanish guitar lead One Day from Rising resident Lys and new boy Omar B. The package stays on the hands in the air route withCarl Louis & Martin Danielle’s The Message, piano house for 2010. Sour Grapes return to Rising with We Are, a wobbling bassline monster which is sure to send shock waves through any dancefloor. Finally, to round off the package, is the ethno horn inspired Cobra byR3hab.
Rising Music’s statement of intent for 2010 this most certainly is.
I'm not sure where they've been or what they've been up to, but the lads are back! I remember watching them smash Shindig to pieces many years ago... at least I think it was the 'dig... anyway, big beats, massive loud noisy vocals and just big room electronica. Nice! Here's a link to their freebee promotional track 'Kiss the sky'. Bloody scary artwork, but I'm very much looking forward to hearing their new album, said to be released in 2010. Watch out!

Tom Neville sees his first outing on Rising Music
with some Nu Disco flavoured House in the form of Run In Reverse.
The Original Mix is a Nu Disco inspired House track that sees Tom fusing
classic themes with modern production techniques. Vintage drum machines sounds
are juxtaposed next to contemporary side chained pads, while the bass line is
set firmly to triplets, as all good bass lines should be.
Chris Lake and Lys' remix moves the track into peak time territory, keeping the
original bassline while adding tougher drums, grooving synth stabs and some bit
crushing for good measure.
Classic disco with a modern twist, Mr Moroder would be proud.
